This is being posted here while Blogger holds the Bad Pitch blog hostage.
I'll spare you the explanation of why I posted this.
But I would like to extend my sympathies to the families of Bernie Mac and Issac Hayes.
Subject: Is Samuel Jackson Next? Death Comes in Threes…
From: Daryl Toor
Date: August 10, 2008 9:23:38 PM EDT
Yesterday, it was Bernie Mac. Today it was Isaac Hayes. Could Samuel Jackson be next?
Daryl Toor, president of Attention!, an Atlanta based publicity firm, a former music reviewer and record company executive notes:
"This photograph, taken from Isaac Hayes' official site is as eerie as the time I read a newspaper obituary on its own obituary writer…."

I received this pitch myself and I'm not exactly sure why. Not only does it have nothing to do with what I cover (localized music blog), it doesn't seem to have a point. Not to mention the whole "in bad taste" thing. I also happen to work in PR and was immediately horrified to see this message, as it is just more fodder for those who like to bash us.

Yup, saw this on a blog post yesterday too. Not from this asshole but someone else brought up the movie and said to get Samuel into a safehouse or something. http://dlisted.com/node/27657

Great. So it's not only in poor taste, it's unoriginal to boot.
And Frank, this line explains exactly why I posted it:
"I also happen to work in PR and was immediately horrified to see this message, as it is just more fodder for those who like to bash us."
The whole point behind the Bad Pitch blog is to let everyone know not everyone in our industry is like this. We're fighting it from the inside.

I'm not sure if people are less intelligent these days or whether the ease of e-mail restricts clear thinking... either way the mind boggles...

Toor sure got my "Attention!"...I am now chiefly aware that he is indeed an idiot.
