If Josh is still on the job search, another strategy could be to start a blog related to his career area or on something he wants to be an expert in and when it's top notch, include it in his networking for jobs. The potential employer gets a good grasp of who Josh is and his writing style. Bosses like good writers. But oh, Josh, no profanity in the blog. If I can't do it, you can't either. :)
