From the whole is greater than the sum of its parts department, here’s some recent online video news.
iPhone to Stream YouTube Clips TheStreet.com
Yeah, I’m tired of hearing about the iPhone too. Apple is initially offering a limited amount of YouTube videos as they have them reformatted for mobile devices.
LG to Launch YouTube Phone TechCrunchThe LG Phone could become a mobile blogger’s best friend. It will shoot video in YouTube’s format and allow you to upload it directly to their site.
Hands on with Casio’s YouTube Camera PC World
The camera will also shoot video in YouTube’s format. This makes for wicked fast uploads to their site.
So it would appear that, if Google has its druthers, YouTube will be the Intel Inside of mobile devices. Once the mobile network is lined up, do you think Google will leverage its ad networks against them?
As I’ve said before, the tools are easy, the content is hard. So with all this content coming in, we’ll see businesses helping it along.
A New Breed of Branded Entertainment BusinessWeek
Honeyshed is “a new Web site aimed specifically at providing only branded content.” So while there will be no commercials, the content will sell you on brands indirectly.
Hollywood Heavies Crash Web Video Party AdWeek
60 Frame Entertainment is a new talent agency that will allow actors to get involved in online video projects more easily.
As this news plays out, video technology gets cheaper and more powerful. We’ll be seeing some painful experimentation as marketers try and learn a new approach to a new medium.
