This story, 2 Arrested After Claiming Buried Treasure, made me smile. But mainly for the quote at the end of the story:

True dat. Is it me, or is this quote particularly applicable to a few media relations clients from the dot-com era?

From a yet as in unposted PR Face2Face interview, personality PR came about for the dotcom era because there was nothing else to talk about. The dot-coms had no business model, no product, just vapor, so PR people pitched all they had: the celebrity CEO.
Hopefully, that era is long over. Too bad it likely is not.
